Corn dogs

🌽 Corn Dogs Recipe 🌭

🕒 Prep Time: 20 mins
🍳 Cook Time: 20 mins
🍽️ Servings: 16

Ingredients:

🌽 1 cup yellow cornmeal
🍞 1 cup all-purpose flour
🍬 ¼ cup white sugar
🥄 4 teaspoons baking powder
🧂 ¼ teaspoon salt
🌶️ ⅛ teaspoon black pepper
🥛 1 cup milk
🥚 1 egg
🍯 1 quart vegetable oil for frying
🌭 2 (16 ounce) packages beef frankfurters
🎋 16 wooden skewers

Instructions:
Combine cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and pepper in a medium bowl; stir in milk and egg to make a batter. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large saucepan to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

Meanwhile, pat frankfurters dry and insert a skewer into each one. Roll frankfurters in batter until well coated. Fry 2 or 3 corn dogs at a time in preheated oil until lightly browned, about 3 minutes. Drain on paper towels.

Pro Tips:
Ensure the oil is at the right temperature (375°F) for perfectly crispy corn dogs.
Patting the frankfurters dry before coating them helps the batter adhere better.
Use wooden skewers for easy handling and serving.
Serve with your favorite dipping sauces for a delicious twist!

Enjoy 🎉

From Mom's Recipes Box.

Left Over Mashed Potatoes, 1868

Add enough flour to make a dough thick enough that can be  rolled out, a shake of Salt and Pepper added to flour. Roll out on floured board, then cut in oblong pieces then roll each oblong piece into  kind of a  horn shape by putting a thumb on a corner and roll around.
Dry these as you would dry fruit.
These can be added to soups or broths - cook covered about 7 minutes till they come to top.
